Bells & Springs

Various percussion effects for color instead of rhythm have been popularized by Brazilian percussionists Airto Moreira and Naná Vasconcelos as well as Indian percussionist Trilok Gurtu.

Pictured here are three sizes of bells from India strung up for shaking and a spring drum (invented by Trilok Gurtu), which is shaken for a variety of electronic sounding effects.
